Summer Camp at the Woody Guthrie Center is an enriching, exciting, hands-on way for your child to experience music from its birth to performance-ready material and everything in between. Sessions include education in different genres of music, songwriting, musical recording and musical performance. The camp environment encourages children to think independently, work cooperatively and discover their own creativity. Instructors and local musicians encourage campers to learn in a variety of ways. We offer a unique program, and we strive to connect personally with all of the children in the program. Surrounded by the works and artifacts of Oklahoma’s own musical legend, Woody Guthrie, children feel inspired to be that next generation of leaders through the most universal communication tool, music. It is our hope that, through our program, your child will learn how to bring creativity and artistic energy into everything they do and to be a positive voice and influence on the world we share. Camp, for grades 7 – 12, runs June 1-10 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. We are pleased to add Little Folks Music Experience from Jun 6– 10, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
